I had my first surgery 6 years ago, a preventative mastectomy with reconstruction, and my second surgery was for implant replacement and augmentation. JI was incredibly fortunate to receive care from Dr. Danino, who has magic hands. Following two facial skin cancers within a year, which required complex reconstructions—one of my nose using a large forehead flap and the other of my upper lip using skin from my cheek—the results are amazing, and the scars are barely visible after less than a year. Don't hesitate to undergo the necessary surgeries as soon as possible to prevent further damage from the cancer. Don't ask too many questions about the procedures and trust the healthcare professionals. I will be eternally grateful.

DIEP flap breast reconstruction at CHUM with Dr. Danino on August 27, 2025: I wanted to share my extremely positive experience following my DIEP flap breast reconstruction after breast cancer. The surgery was performed at CHUM by Dr. Alain Danino and his team, and I can't thank them enough. From the very first meeting, I felt listened to, reassured, and well supported. Dr. Danino is professional, compassionate, and very attentive. The procedure went very well: very little pain, easy recovery, and no complications. I was a little worried beforehand, but everything went much more smoothly than I had imagined. I am also very happy that I chose DIEP flap reconstruction rather than an implant. It's a more natural technique, without any foreign material, and the result is exactly what I wanted.
