PATIENT TESTIMONIALLipedema and Nutrition:A 43-Year-Old Patient’s Journey

Her path, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and the results she achieved

My name is Claire, I am 43 years old and was diagnosed with lipedema about 2 years ago.

For years, I tried every kind of diet. I would lose a little weight around my upper body, but never in my legs.

Today, I focus on managing lipedema, but more importantly, on what I can control: my nutrition, inflammation, and overall healthy lifestyle.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Reduced inflammation

through an anti-inflammatory nutrition plan.

Less water retention

and less heaviness in the legs.

Moderate weight loss

but visible improvement in body shape and comfort.

More energy,

less pain and sensitivity, better quality of life.

A comprehensive approach:

nutrition, gentle exercise, compression and medical follow-up.

MY JOURNEY

My lipedema began at puberty. My legs have always been disproportionately larger compared to the rest of my body. Despite “eating healthy” and exercising a lot, nothing really changed.

Once I was diagnosed, I decided to work with a dietitian who specializes in inflammation and completely restructured my eating habits.

MY DAILY EATING PLAN

Breakfast

Oatmeal with chia seeds, berries, almonds

Green tea

Lunch

Colorful vegetable salad

Grilled salmon or chickpeas

Quinoa or sweet potato

Olive oil + lemon

Dinner

Vegetable or roasted veggies soup

Lean protein (chicken, tofu, eggs)

Legumes or brown rice

Snacks

Nuts, almonds

Fresh fruit

Plain yogurt or kefir

My golden rules

Choose whole, unprocessed foods

High in fiber and omega-3s

Low in refined sugar

Hydration: 1.5 to 2 L of water daily

Eat mindfully and stop when satisfied

MY RESULTS AFTER 6 MONTHS

Lost 13 lbs (mostly from upper body weight)

Waist circumference: – 2.8 inches

Legs feel noticeably less swollen

Less pain and tenderness

Softer skin

More energy throughout the day

Better sleep and improved mood

I wouldn’t say my lipedema is gone, but I feel like I am finally taking an active role in my health. My body no longer feels like it’s working against me.
